Governor Scott Announces Carlos Lopez-Cantera as Lieutenant Governor

On January 14th, Governor Rick Scott announced that he is appointing Miami-Dade Property Appraiser Carlos Lopez-Cantera as Lieutenant Governor. Winter 2013 Economic Updates

Execution Drug Update

Yesterday, the Florida Supreme Court agreed with a Bradford County Circuit Judge saying the state’s use of a new execution drug is effective and does not constitute cruel and unusual punishment. Their unanimous decision lifted the stay of execution for Askari Abdullah Muhammad. He was originally scheduled to die by lethal injection on December 3rd.
